Prompt: What if the Blake's 7 universe had Daemons, like in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials? Any fic exploring this concept would be cool. Do intelligent machines get Daemons or not? What about mutoids? What about Cally? (A million bonus points for any or all of: Avon and Vila having shenanigans, the Federation being evil, Avon's daemon fighting/mating/cuddling like mad while he pretends to be unemotional)
Pairing: Avon/Blake (Pre-slash), with a brief allusion to past Avon/Tynus
Rating: Teen
Summary: "What everyone else paraded for the world to see, Blake kept hidden. That thought, which had at first been a simple observation, had become Avon’s justification for what he was doing."

It uploaded *just* before I had to leave for work and I spent the whole day waiting to get home to watch it, and then just as I did the sound on my laptop failed, but all has been fixed now and... vid! It is everything I hoped for. The scenes with the sun rising over Gauda Prime, and Tarrant and Servalan, and Tarrant and Dayna... it is like you are in my brain!

*flails some more*

Anyway, now I will go read the fic, and it is daemon fic! Which is a thing I am ridiculously in love with, so I have all of the excitement right now. Thank you so much for these awesome fills!

I'm really glad you liked the vid! <3 It's probably the most I've ever enjoyed vidding something. I usually don't generally make serious vids, and it was great to try that out.

That vid!! (My pc is being horrible about letting me watch any vids at all, especially ones on Vimeo, so I can't say more until one day when I have better tech, but what I could see was amazing. So brilliant and heart-breaking in all the right B7 ways.)

ETA: So, okay, I tried posting the embed into a private post and my pc was all right with that. And, oh, that is just as amazing as I thought it was. I love especially the use of "call my name" with Blake (and then with Avon) - it picks up on the way the show uses that idea of Blake, as well as Blake as a person. The filter you've put on it really works, and it really does express something of that elusive heart-breaking quality that Blake's 7 has - you go on, even though it's hopeless.

My computer is stupid, but I won't let it dictate to me (sorry, I am just unable to help grumbling at it, not how hard it was to watch). :-) And I loved the fanvid! It is awesome!

And yes, I did mean the colour filter specifically when I said that. It worked really well, especially with the filter (or whatever it is) that is already on the Gauda Prime location stuff - very effective. Made me feel something? Tissues were needed several times. ♥

late comment is late, but i hope that we talked about it enough while you were making it that you knew before that i thought the vid was excellent! (fic is too, but i commented over on AO3 for that). i think it's definitely one of your best, which is not to say the others aren't very good too obviously and to be fair to them, they are doing something very different so it's almost unfair to compare this to quirky shippy videos, but! it is most excellent and provokes many feels in the best possible way. i love how sad and hopeless and jaded avon is all the way through - it's like all the saddest parts of that series compressed together (even the happy bits are actually sad, like when he thinks briefly that blake is alive and then he isn't) so you get this really full picture of everything that is weighing avon down - particularly because you've cut it with the rest of the crew sort of supporting each other or laughing and generally holding on etc. even the sad bits for them are bits where they can find strength in pain. all avon ever finds is opportunities for more pain.

i also really like the sepia filter and the use of light on gauda prime. and i love blake's eyelids flickering the most! and the way that he says 'AVON' at the end <3.

i also love the ending - i think that really works as something that has been built up to (moving from one person to the other, much like the previous choruses), that we should expect but i didn't. also - the servalan bit is great and makes a lot of sense in the song - although every time i watch it i think 'WHY DO HER HANDS LOOK SO BIG?' (it is because she is tiny)

Thank you so much for this detailed, wonderful comment/review! You were an incredibly helpful beta, and it's thanks to you that Avon features as he does in this. I think it was a really, really helpful suggestion that made the narrative a lot stronger.

I'd like to make more vids that are different from my others/my usual thing, actually. I have a lot to learn with vidding, and I'd like to keep pushing myself and not to just make silly things about Avon being ridiculous. So, if you have any suggestions along those lines, they'd be welcome!
